BMW Is Reportedly Set To Acquire 57,000 Lumia Windows Phones



While the remainder of the world is happy with Android or iOS, it seems that several high-profile companies are using the Windows Phone platform. In a recent report by Wparea, we have learned that BMW is reportedly set to acquire 57,000 Lumia Windows Phones for its employees.


According to this report, The Windows Phone devices are set to replace BMW’s existing Nokia Symbian-based devices. With the upcoming Windows 10, the desktop and mobile platforms will be merged and more enterprises are aiming for a seamless integration between its devices.

BMW AG is set to purchase the Lumia 630 for most of its employees. The executives on the other hand will be offered the high-end device, a Lumia 920 or Lumia 930. While some may consider iPhone as the go-to smartphone, the recent Windows Phone devices have been designed with enterprise applications in mind, making them attractive for large corporations.


The complete transition to new phones is set to begin early next year.


With this move to Windows Phone platform, BMW is joining companies like Hyatt Hotels, BT (British Telecom), CaixaBank, Delta Airlines and many more that have already adopted Windows Phones.
