Details about the new James Bond movie, Spectre , were announced overnight, including what will be 007′s ride in the film, the new Aston Martin DB10.
At an event hosted by Sam Mendes at Pinewood Studios, around 30km west of London, the director revealed details about the 24th film in the official James Bond franchise.
To be called Spectre, the new film will again feature Daniel Craig as James Bond, and his official MI6-sanctioned car will be the new Aston Martin DB10 (above and below). Rumours abound on the internet Bond will also drive a Fiat 500 in a chase scene.
The DB10 has been developed especially for the film and, in Aston Martin’s words, it “gives a glimpse to the future design direction for the next generation of Aston Martins“. These Astons are expected to utilise an all-new aluminium-reliant architecture and will be powered by engines supplied by AMG.
Only 10 DB10s will be built and all will be bespoke. According to multiple reports from the British media, all 10 DB10s will be used for filming and none will be offered for sale. Top Gear adds that the DB10 is clad in a carbonfibre skin, as it’s the fastest material to build with, and the first three cars have already been built.
Returning for another bite at Bond will be Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, and Rory Kinnear as Tanner. New-to-Bond cast members include Christoph Waltz (Dr King Schultz in Django Unchained), Andrew Scott (Moriarty in BBC’s Sherlock), Dave Bautista (Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy), Monica Bellucci (Persephone in The Matrix sequels) and Léa Seydoux (Clotilde in The Grand Budapest Hotel).
Filming begins shortly and Spectre is scheduled to hit cinemas on November 6, 2015.
