Kelley Blue Book are reviewing the 2015 BMW i3. One of their question that needs answer is: Does it still drive like a BMW?
The new i3 went on sale in Europe last year, but U.S. sales only started this Spring. The BMW i3 is the first of the BMW i vehicles constructed from the ground up primarily of carbon fiber to enter the U.S. market. With 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque hybrid-synchronous electric motor, the fully electric BMW i3 is electrified by a 22-kWh lithium-ion battery, good for 80-100 miles of emission-free driving.
The BMW i3 has a base MSRP of $41,350 and the range-extender model has a starting MSRP of $45,200.
With 1,159 sales of the BMW i3 and 204 of the i8, BMW set a new sales record in the U.S. in a single month – 1,363.
Worldwide sales of the BMW i3 have shot to over 10,000 units, including more than 3,100 in the U.S.
