The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may have finally found its new administrator.

Autoblog reports President Barack Obama nominated National Transportation Safety Board member Mark Rosekind to the agency’s top post. Rosekind served on the NTSB for four years, where he focused on accident investigations, impaired driving and fatigue concerns. He also directed NASA’s Fatigue Countermeasures Program, and headed the space agency’s aviation operations branch in flight management and human factors division.

Rosekind would replace deputy administrator David Friedman, whose 10-month tenure has been fraught with accountability issues regarding the February 2014 General Motors ignition switch recall, as well as the ongoing Takata airbag recall crisis.
