Mazda 6 facelift outed via leaked Japanese brochure

The first images of the upcoming Mazda 6 facelift have hit the internet, indicating the car will receive changes to both the exterior and interior.

User Brunello has posted pictures, which seem to be hastily taken photos of a brochure for the Japanese market 6, on French forum site WorldScoop.

If these brochure photos are indeed of the real thing, the updated Mazda 6, known as the Atenza in Japan, will feature a lightly reworked front end. There are slightly shorter headlights, possibly sporting a LED main beam, framing a grille that features a thicker and bolder chrome element, as well as revised horizontal bars.

Underneath that are chrome highlights for the fog light surround, and detail changes to the front lip spoiler. Differences at the rear-end seem to be subtle to non-existent.

Mazda has saved the truly big changes for the car’s interior, where the entire upper portion of the dashboard has been reshaped to incorporate the MZD Connect entertainment and navigation system’s floating tablet-style screen and the head-up display.

This has necessitated revisions to the shape of the air vents, as well as the addition of a contrasting leatherette panel across the middle.

Further down, the new Mazda 6 features a revised layout for the climate control system, a new gear shifter including leather-like boot, control knobs for the MZD Connect system, a new electronic parking, and a sliding cover for the enlarged storage bin ahead of the central arm rest.
