This is the second generation of the 911 GTS, and it’s positioned between the Carrera S and GT3 variants in the 911 range. Available in either a coupe or a cabriolet driving the rear or all four wheels, it’s also offered with a choice of seven-speed manual or Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) transmission.
The 3.8-litre flat six engine in the back of the 911 GTS produces 430 hp, which is 30 hp more than the Carrera S. The GTS rides 10 mm lower than the Carrera S too, thanks to the PASM active damper system that’s fitted as standard along with the Sport Chrono package.
Compared to the Carrera S, the sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h drops one-tenth of a second, at 3.8 seconds if equipped with the PDK transmission while the top speed is just above 300 km/h. However the fuel consumption remains the same, ranging from 13.9 – 12.2 l/100 km depending on the variant.
Externally those hips don’t lie, they are indeed greater in width as the GTS is using the wider Carrera 4 body. More noticeable telltale from the outside are those matt black 20-inch wheels with centre wheel locks, unique bumpers, and smoked bi-xenon headlamps with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). The changes are less obvious inside, but the GTS gets Alcantara upholstery as standard.
