Handling Halloween with 2015 Ford F-150 Payload Capacity

2015 Ford F-150 Payload Capacity

“When you have a giant pumpkin, you need a capable truck.”

Halloween is fast approaching and Allegheny Ford Isuzu has found a fitting way to celebrate. As Pennsylvania’s premier destination for commercial vehicle solutions, the dealership is blending traditional Halloween festivities with the hard-working capabilities of a Ford pickup. To be fair, John Harnica of Harnica Pumpkin Farms in Dundee, Michigan is responsible for the blending—but Allegheny is along for the ride with Ford’s new Haul-O-Ween video posted below.

In addition to a reputation as a prized pumpkin farmer, Harnica also boasts a good eye for pickup trucks. Seen behind the wheel of Ford’s anticipated new truck model, Harnica’s line of work provides a seasonally topical backdrop for showing off the 2015 Ford F-150 payload capacity. Hint: it’s considerable enough to take on a vegetable that requires a make-shift tractor hoist to lift.

Due to a variety of available powertrain options, 2015 Ford F-150 payload capacity is dependent on the engine housed under hood. As the video’s final frame suggests, maximum payload capacity for 2015 F-150 models is 3,300 pounds when properly equipped. This best-in-class poundage is achieved with Ford’s top-end 5.0L V8. Yet ever since Ford announced its all-new 2015 pickup, the truck’s 2.7L EcoBoost V6 has received the lion’s share of industry attention.

Considering that Silverado 1500’s top-end eight-cylinder accommodates up to 2,050 pounds of payload, F-150’s new 2.7L EcoBoost is set to make a good mark among light-duty pickups. In addition to the engine’s inherent efficiencies, drivers can fill the bed of the turbocharged F-150 with up to 2,250 pounds of payload.

Of course, a giant pumpkin is less strenuous of a test than F-150 recently faced at a stone quarry in Oregon, but the truck’s ability to make Halloween happen for a Michigan farmer is encouraging for all who plan to put the pickup to work upon its release later this year.
