Brazilian GT: Ebrahim Motors 2013 season review

Ebrahim Motors enjoyed a successful 2013 season with their Audi R8 LMS ultra in South America. The Brazilian GT Championship became the South American GT Championship for 2013 and the single Audi team competed very well.

The season review has been compiled from the 2013 Audi Motorsport Blog Weekend Round Up posts. Each round has been added as was seen in the individual Weekend Round Up posts during 2013, which can be accessed via the links throughout the review below:

Round 1: Sao Paulo

The streets of Sao Paulo hosted the first round of the Brazilian GT Championship. Ebrahim Motors have continued to enter their Audi R8 LMS ultra. This year they will receive support from Audi Brazil, competing in a red/silver Audi Top Service livery. The team were very fast during all of the sessions and qualified very well, consistently within the top four. During the two races they were very competitive and finished second in both races, collecting valuable points.


Round 2: Curitiba

Round two of the Brazilian GT was held at Curitiba. The Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra (2012 spec) was sporting a new red/silver/white Audi driving experience livery. They were very fast this weekend and finished second during the first race. The Ebrahim pairing improved even further during race two when they claimed their first race victory of the season.


Round 3: Velopark

The Brazilian GT Championship was at Velopark for round three. The Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra was at the event and they qualified on the front row for both races. Race one saw the Ebrahim pairing battling well and maintaining their position, bringing the R8 LMS ultra home for yet another second place finish and good points. The second race saw the Ebrahim Audi gaining the lead, but they were soon passed by the race winning Lamborghini. Ultimately the Ebrahim brothers brought their R8 LMS ultra across the line for another strong second place finish, despite a deflating tire.


Round 4: Interlagos

The Brazilian GT Championship headed to Interlagos for round four of the 2013 season. It proved to be another successful weekend for the Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra. The Brazilian Audi squad got the weekend off to a good start by topping the first free practice session and finishing second during session two. They continued this impressive pace during qualifying as they netted third on the grid for race one and highlighted the day with pole position for race two. Race one saw the Ebrahim pair competing well as they improved from their starting position to finish second overall, yet another podium finish. The #20 Audi R8 LMS ultra lead from the pole during race two, and successfully defended the lead until the pitstops. Shortly after the stops the Audi unfortunately dropped to third. These positions remained constant until the dying moments of the race. An issue for the Ebrahim Audi saw them loosing time towards the end of the race, and they lost third to an Aston Martin GT4 just before the end, finishing fourth overall. The fourth overall was enough to still clinch third within the GT3 class and the Ebrahim brothers stood on the podium for the second time in the weekend. 


Round 5: Curitiba

The Brazilian GT Championship was at Curitiba this weekend, round five of the season. Ebrahim Motors has had a very consistent season so far this year. The #20 Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra is driven by Wagner Ebrahim and Fábio Ebrahim. During qualifying Wagner Ebrahim took position two on the grid for race one, followed by Fábio Ebrahim taking pole position for race two. The first race on Saturday saw the Ebrahim brothers unfortunately retiring from the event, but they were back for race two. Starting from pole they were were involved in the leading group. By the end of the race the Ebrahim Audi crossed the finish line in fourth place.


Round 6: Velopark

Velopark in Porto Alegre played host to the sixth Brazilian GT Championship round this weekend. It was a bittersweet event for Ebrahim Motors and their Audi R8 LMS ultra. Ebrahim Motors have been fielding one Audi R8 LMS ultra in the Brazilian GT Championship this year, the #20 Audi driven by Ebrahim brothers: Wagner and Fábio Ebrahim. They again showed good pace this weekend. The first qualifying session yielded fourth on the grid, followed by pole position for race two. The first race took place on Saturday, which saw the Ebrahim pairing starting and finishing in fourth place. Race two got underway on Sunday with the Audi R8 LMS ultra leading from the front, closely followed by the #16 Blau Lamborghini Gallardo. A fierce battle for the lead ensued until the Ebrahim Motors Audi began to slow on track. The Audi entered the pits for a retirement from the second race.


Round 7: Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez

The Brazilian GT Championship (South American GT Championship) was in Argentina this weekend. The seventh round of the series was held at Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez. Ebrahim Motors entered their Audi R8 LMS ultra with great results at this event. Ebrahim Motors have been full season competitors with their R8 LMS ultra, which is driven by the Ebrahim brothers: Fabio and Wagner Ebrahim. Their driver line-up was however different for the event in Argentina. The #20 Audi R8 LMS ultra was driven by Wagner Ebrahim and Felipe Tozzo. They showed good pace during practice and again proved to be very fast in qualifying. Wagner Ebrahim was able to claim second on the grid for the first race set for Saturday. His teammate, Felipe Tozzo, was able to go one better, as he claimed pole position for race two on Sunday. The first race got underway late on Saturday afternoon. Brazilian GT: Victory for Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra in Argentina race two

Round seven of the Brazilian GT Championship (South American GT Championship) concluded with the second race in Argentina today. It was a victorious end to the event for Ebrahim Motors and their Audi R8 LMS ultra.

Ebrahim Motors entered their #20 Audi R8 LMS ultra for the seventh round hosted at Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez in Argentina. The car was driven by Wagner Ebrahim and Felipe Tozzo. They showed good pace all weekend and achieved two front row starting positions. Ebrahim took second on the grid for race one and Tozzo took pole position for race two.

The first race late on Saturday saw the Audi from Ebrahim Motors crossing the finish line in second place. Race two was held on Sunday and the Audi R8 LMS ultra lined up in pole position. They led the race from the drop of the flag and maintained the lead after the pitstop phase. The championship’s visit to Argentina concluded with a well deserved victory for Wagner Ebrahim and Felipe Tozzo in the second race. It was a dominant victory for the team.


The Brazilian GT Championship will now be heading to the season finale, which will be hosted at Mogi Guaçu in São Paulo: 5-6 December 2013.

Brazilian GT: Second place for Ebrahim Motors Audi in Argentina race one

The seventh round of the Brazilian GT Championship (South American GT Championship) is being held at Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez in Argentina this weekend. Ebrahim Motors have qualified well and achieved another podium result in race one.

The #20 Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra is being driven by Wagner Ebrahim and Felipe Tozzo this weekend. Ebrahim scored a second place in the first qualifying session, followed by Tozzo taking pole for the second race.

The first race got underway late on Saturday afternoon. Ebrahim and Tozzo finished the first race by placing second, finishing nineteen seconds behind the pole sitting and eventual race winning Blau Lamborghini Gallardo.

The second race is scheduled for Sunday afternoon. We wish the best of luck to Ebrahim Motors who will be starting from pole position.



Brazilian GT: Pole position and a front row start for Ebrahim Motors in Argentina

The Brazilian GT Championship (South American GT Championship) is in Argentina this weekend. The seventh round of the series is being held at Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez. Ebrahim Motors have once again entered their Audi R8 LMS ultra with good results so far at this event.

Brazilian GT: Weekend of highs and lows for Ebrahim Motors at Velopark

Velopark in Porto Alegre played host to the sixth Brazilian GT Championship round this weekend. It was a bittersweet event for Ebrahim Motors and their Audi R8 LMS ultra.

Ebrahim Motors have been fielding one Audi R8 LMS ultra in the Brazilian GT Championship this year, the #20 Audi driven by Ebrahim brothers: Wagner and Fábio Ebrahim.

They again showed good pace this weekend. The first qualifying session yielded fourth on the grid, followed by pole position for race two.

The first race took place on Saturday, which saw the Ebrahim pairing starting and finishing in fourth place. That race was won by the #19 Via Italia Ferrari 458 Italia GT3.

Race two got underway with the Audi R8 LMS ultra leading from the front, closely followed by the #16 Blau Lamborghini Gallardo. A fierce battle for the lead ensued until the Ebrahim Motors Audi began to slow on track. The Audi entered the pits for a retirement from the second race, which was eventually won by the Blau Lamborghini.

The seventh round of the Brazilian GT Championship will be taking place in November.

Brazilian GT: Pole position for Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra at Velopark

Round six of the Brazilian GT Championship is at Velopark in Porto Alegre this weekend. Ebrahim Motors are continuing a very strong season with their Audi R8 LMS ultra.

Ebrahim Motors have been fielding one Audi R8 LMS ultra in the Brazilian GT Championship, the #20 Audi driven by Ebrahim brothers: Wagner and Fábio Ebrahim.


They have again showed good pace this weekend, which has been highlighted by a pole position for race two on Sunday. They will be lining up fourth for race one, behind two Lamborghinis and one Ferrari.

The first race will be taking place later on Saturday, followed by race two on Sunday. We wish the best of luck to the Ebrahim Motors team for the two races.

Brazilian GT: Strong result for Ebrahim Motors Audi at Curitiba

The Brazilian GT Championship was at Curitiba this weekend, the fifth round of the season. The Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra team continued their consistent form, but suffered bad luck as well.

Ebrahim Motors has had a very consistent season so far this year. The #20 Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra is driven by the Ebrahim brothers: Wagner Ebrahim and Fábio Ebrahim.


Ebrahim Motors had a special logo on the front of their Audi R8 LMS ultra this weekend. The Brazilian GT Audi team had a logo honouring Audi's 1-2 victory at the FIA WEC Six Hours of São Paulo last weekend. One of the team's drivers, Fábio Ebrahim, was an Audi guest at the São Paulo event last weekend. 

They achieved two front row starting positions during qualifying yesterday, when Wagner Ebrahim took position two on the grid for race one, followed by Fábio Ebrahim taking pole position for race two.


The first race on Saturday saw the Ebrahim brothers unfortunately retiring from the event, but they were back for race two. Starting from pole they were were involved in the leading group. They held third for the majority of the first half of the race. During the pitstops they managed to move up to second, a position which they defended fiercely from a pair of Ferrari 458 Italias. They lost second place to the #19 Ferrari and then proceeded to defend third position. Ultimately the #3 Ferrari was also able to pass the Audi, dropping the Audi to fourth. By the end of the race the Ebrahim Audi crossed the finish line in fourth place. Race one was won by the #16 Blau Lamborghini Gallardo and race two by the #19 Ferrari 458 Italia.   

The Brazilian GT Championship will now be heading to Porto Alegre for round six in October.

Brazilian GT: Ebrahim Motors Audi pole position and front row starting position at Curitiba

The Brazilian GT Championship is at Curitiba this weekend, round five of the season. The Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra team has continued their good form in the series this year.

Ebrahim Motors has had a very consistent season so far and it has been no different this weekend. The #20 Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra is driven by Wagner Ebrahim and Fábio Ebrahim.

They have traded times with the #16 Lamborghini all weekend long, with the Ebrahim brothers taking second place in free practice one and topping the time sheets in session two. Qualifying yielded a similar result. The #16 Lamborghini of Allam Khodair and Marcelo Hahn claimed pole for race one, followed by Wagner Ebrahim taking position two on the grid. The rivals again swapped places during the second qualifying session, as Fábio Ebrahim took pole position ahead of the #16 Lamborghini. The qualifying results can be seen HERE.

The first race will take place later on Saturday, followed by race two on Sunday. We wish the best of luck to the Ebrahim team to continue their good form.

Brazilian GT: Double Podium for Ebrahim Motors Audi at Interlagos

The Brazilian GT Championship headed to Interlagos for round four of the 2013 season. It proved to be another successful weekend for the Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra.

Ebrahim Motors has had a very consistent season so far, with a win and many podium finishes. Their #20 Audi R8 LMS ultra (2012 spec), supported by Audi Brazil, is driven by the Ebrahim brothers: Wagner Ebrahim and Fábio Ebrahim.

The Brazilian Audi squad got the weekend off to a good start by topping the first free practice session and finishing second during session two. They continued this impressive pace during qualifying as they netted third on the grid for race one and highlighted the day with pole position for race two.


Race one saw the Ebrahim pair competing well, as they improved from their starting position to finish second overall, yet another podium finish. The first race was won by the #16 Lamborghini Gallardo driven by Marcos Gomes and Marcelo Hahn.

The #20 Audi R8 LMS ultra lead from the pole during race two, and successfully defended the lead until the pitstops. Shortly after the stops the Audi unfortunately dropped to third behind the race winning #19 Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 of Serra and Longo and the second placed #16 Lamborghini of Gomes and Hahn. These positions remained constant until the dying moments of the race. An issue for the Ebrahim Audi saw them loosing time towards the end of the race, and they lost third to the #57 Aston Martin GT4 just before the end, finishing fourth overall. The fourth overall was enough to still clinch third within the GT3 class and the Ebrahim brothers stood on the podium for the second time this weekend.  

Despite the result in race two it was another good weekend and strong points for the Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra. The results from the Interlagos weekend can be seen HERE.

The Brazilian GT Championship will now head to Curitiba for round five in September.

Brazilian GT: Podium results for Ebrahim Motors and Audi Brazil at Tarumã

The Brazilian GT Championship was at Tarumã for round three this weekend. The Ebrahim Motors Audi R8 LMS ultra was at the event and continued to perform well this season.

Ebrahim Motors arrived at Tarumã after having taken their maiden win of the 2013 season last time out in race two at Curitiba. The Audi Brazil supported squad were very confident ahead of round three. Their #20 Audi R8 LMS ultra (2012 specification) is driven by Wagner Ebrahim and Fábio Ebrahim.


The Brazilian Audi team has proven to be very consistent all season long, and they continued that good form this weekend. They qualified on the front row for both races. Race one saw the Ebrahim pairing battling well and maintaining their position, bringing the R8 LMS ultra home for yet another second place finish and good points.

The second race saw the Ebrahim Audi gaining the lead, but they were soon passed by the race winning Lamborghini. Ultimately the Ebrahim brothers brought their R8 LMS ultra across the line for another strong second place finish, despite a deflating tire. Both races were won by the #16 Blau Lamborghini Gallardo

It was another good Brazilian GT weekend for Ebrahim Motors and their Audi R8 LMS ultra.

Brazilian GT: Maiden win for Ebrahim Motors and Audi Brazil at Curitiba

Curitiba hosted the second round of the Brazilian GT, also known as the Portal GT Series. A single Audi R8 LMS ultra (2012 specification) entered the event with great performances and results.

Ebrahim Motors is the only Audi team in this South American SRO run championship. Their #20 silver and red Audi R8 LMS ultra is supported by Audi Brazil. As usual the car was shared by the two regular drivers: Wagner and Fabio Ebrahim. The two brothers performed very well all weekend long. After good qualifying sessions, the team finished in a strong second place in race 1 on Saturday, behind a Lamborghini Gallardo.


Race 2 on Sunday was even better, a maiden win this season for Wagner and Fabio Ebrahim. The #20 Audi R8 LMS ultra finished first ahead of the race 1 winning Lamborghni Gallardo. The two cars battled hard for the race win. In in the end the Audi car crossed the finish line victorious, winning by a very narrow lead of just 0,296 ahead of the Lamborghini. This victory for the Ebrahim brothers follows on from strong performances last time out at São Paulo.

The next round of the Brazilian GT will be at the Autódromo Internacional de Tarumã, July 28th.

Brazilian GT: Audi Top Service Ebrahim Motors ready for round 1 at São Paulo

The 2013 Brazilain GT Championship will kick off this weekend at São Paulo. A single Audi R8 LMS ultra will take part in the event, with support from Audi Brazil.

Ebrahim Motors has raced with the Audi R8 LMS in the last two season of the Brazilian GT Championship. Strong performances from the privateer team, but also very bad luck many times as well. The team updated their car to ultra specification in the middle of 2012.


Ebrahim Motors will be the official Audi Brazil dealer team for 2013. The #20 Audi R8 LMS ultra (2012 specification model) will have a factory silver and red paint scheme and will carry the Audi Top Service sponsorship. A step ahead for a team managed and run by the Ebrahim brothers, Fábio and Wagner. With this kind of recognition, the Audi team will target the overall championship title.

The first round will be held on the streets of São Paulo, at the temporary Anhembi Circuit supporting the IndyCar Series. We wish the best of luck to Ebrahim Motors and their Audi R8 LMS ultra.
