TSF: Overall Victory for Audi Taiwan R8 LMS and double podium at Penbay

The Taiwan Speed Festival held its first round at Penbay International Circuit this weekend. Two Audi R8 LMS entries took part.

The first Audi entry was from Team Audi Taiwan, entered by Absolte Racing, with drivers Jeffrey Lee and Alex Chang behind the wheel of the #7 Audi R8 LMS. D2 Racing Sport entered the #75 Audi R8 LMS for C.J. Huang.

Qualifying saw the Team Audi Taiwan R8 LMS taking second on the grid, whilst the D2 Racing R8 LMS did not take part in the session.

Team Audi Taiwan took the overall victory for the day with Jeffrey Lee and Alex Chang. The R8 LMS success continued with a third place in class for C.J. Huang, who had recovered very well, after having started last, due to the fact that he did not take part in qualifying. He finished seventh overall, third in GT3.

Round two of the TSF will again be held at Penbay, from 14-15 June.

Option Cup: D2 Racing Sport Audi R8 LMS debut at Penbay in Taiwan

The Option Cup held its first round at the Penbay International Circuit in Taiwan this weekend.

D2 Racing Sport debuted their newly acquired Audi R8 LMS at the event. C.J. Huang (黃晞展) was driving the older specification #75 Audi R8 LMS car. He was competing in the GT Challenge, within the GT Challenge A+ class.

He qualified fourth overall and completed the race by finishing first in the GT Challenge A+ class. It was a strong debut for D2 Racing Sport's new Audi R8 LMS, alongside the team's Mercedes-Benz SLS and Lamborghini Gallardo.

The next round of the Option Cup will be held from 26-27 July.

Option Cup: Audi R8 LMS for D2 Racing Sport in Taiwan

D2 Racing Sport, a Taiwanese racing team, has acquired an Audi R8 LMS. The team will be adding the car to their arsenal in various Asian racing events during 2014.

D2 Racing Sport has been running a variety of different race cars in recent years, including Lamborghini and Porsche race cars.

Their Audi R8 LMS is an older specification machine and has been decorated in the D2 Racing Sport yellow and green livery. The team will debut their R8 LMS at round one of the Option Cup in Taiwan, 22-23 March.
