RCCO: Not Audi Team tv racing’s day at the Shell Grand Prix Hamburg

The third round of the 2014 rallye racing Carrera Cup (RCCO) Slotcar Championship was the Shell Grand Prix Hamburg held on Wednesday.

Audi Team tv racing again entered two Audi R8 LMS ultra slotcars. The #1 Schaeffler R8 LMS ultra was piloted by Thomas Voigt, alongside his teammate, Jan Hennen, with the #55 Audi.


Jan Hennen qualified fourth and by the end of the evening he finished seventh overall. Thomas Voigt unfortunately finished fourteenth, after dropping out during the heats as a consequence of a loose control cord.

Round four, the Audi R8 Cup, will be held at Oschersleben on 17 May during the weekend of the second DTM round.

RCCO: Another podium result for Audi Team tv racing in Harburg

The 2014 rallye racing Carrera Cup (RCCO) Slotcar Championship held its second round, the PAGID RS Just a minute, at the Hanse-Ring in Harburg on Wednesday evening.

Audi Team tv racing again entered two Audi R8 LMS ultra slotcars. The #1 Schaeffler R8 LMS ultra was piloted by Thomas Voigt, alongside his teammate, Felipe Fénandez Laser, in the #77 Speedpool Audi.


Qualifying proved to be very close. Thomas Voigt narrowly missed out on pole position. He was a mere 0.004 seconds behind the pole sitter, Stefan Waschow (Volkswagen Polo R WRC).

The evening's racing concluded with another podium finish for Thomas Voigt and the #1 Audi R8 LMS ultra. He backed up his second place at the first round by placing third during round two on Wednesday. The race was won by Stefan Waschow with the Volkswagen Polo R WRC and Jürgen Stüdemann finished second with his Porsche 911 RSR.

Audi Team tv racing’s Thomas Voigt now jointly leads the championship alongside Jürgen Stüdemann (PROTOTYP-Shell/Porsche 911 RSR), both on 47 points. In the teams' standings Audi Team tv racing are in second place, 22 points behind the leading Volkswagen Motorsport team. Audi is lying third in the manufactures standings, behind Joest-Bentley and Volkswagen.

It was a very exciting evening of racing and the series will be hosting round three next month. The third round will be the Porsche Grand Prix Hamburg at Porsche Zentrum Hamburg, on 30 April at 18:30 local time.

RCCO: Podium finish for Audi Team tv racing in Hamburg

The 2014 rallye racing Carrera Cup (RCCO) Slotcar Championship got underway on Wednesday. The series hosted the "20 minutes of Hamburg" at the PROTOTYP Museumin Hamburg.


Audi Team tv racing entered two Audi R8 LMS slotcars. It was the debut for the new GTD version of the Audi R8 LMS in the Carrera Cup. The defending champions squad was headed by the #1 Schaeffler Audi R8 LMS with Thomas Voigt and Jan Hennen. Their teammates, Martin Kummerow and Felipe Fénandez Laser, were behind the controls of the #77 Speedpool R8 LMS.

The liveries of the Audi Team tv racing R8 LMS cars were designed by berzerkdesign.de.

A selection of Audi R8 Cup cars also took part in the event.


During practice the #1 R8 LMS was fourth fastest and the #77 eleventh. Qualifying saw pole position going to the #3 Joest Racing Bentley. Voigt and Hennen qualified sixth, ahead of Laser and Kummerow in eighth.


The race itself finished with the #1 R8 LMS of Voigt and Hennen finishing second, behind the race winning Joest Racing Bentley of Eldert Hedden und Volker Paulun. It was a thrilling finale to the evening.


It was a very exciting evening of racing and the series will be hosting round two in a few weeks time, at SRC Hanse Racing Hamburg e.V. in HH-Harburg on 26 March.

RCCO: Audi Team tv racing ready for the Carrera Cup (RCCO) Slotcar Championship

The 2014 rallye racing Carrera Cup (RCCO) Slotcar Championship begins next Wednesday, with the "20 minutes of Hamburg" at the PROTOTYP Museum in Hamburg. Once again Audi race cars will be represented in this slotcar series.

Schaeffler Audi R8 LMS ultra at the 2013 Hamburg 24 Hours
A two-car Audi team from Audi Team tv racing (Speedpool) will be taking part in the series. They have previously competed with Audi R8 LMS ultra slotcars, but now they will be debuting the new Audi R8 LMS (GTD version) this year.

The #1 Schaeffler Audi R8 LMS will be controlled by Thomas Voigt (Speedpool) and Jan Hennen, former motorsport PR director of Michelin in Germany. Their sister #77 Speedpool Audi R8 LMS will have Felipe Fénandez Laser (Porsche Carrera Cup racer) and Martin Kummerow, RX of Germany Estering Head of PR, behind the controls.
