The press renders and specifications of the ZTE A606 have just surfaced. The ZTE A606 was already certified by the Chinese telecommunications regulator TENAA last month, and the leaked press renders look very similar to the images previously released by the government agency. Based on the leaked press renders, the ZTE A606 will have a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top of the device while the bottom of the smartphone contains the microUSB port for charging and data transfer. Above the display, users will find the earpiece and the front-facing camera, while the volume rocker and the power button are placed on the right side of the device. The leaked press renders also show that the rear panel of the handset contains the grills for the loudspeaker and the logo of the Chinese device maker, while the single rear camera and the LED flash are both located on the upper left corner of the smartphone’s back.
The leak also provided information regarding the specifications of the ZTE A606. The device will be powered by the MT6739 chipset from the Taiwanese semiconductor firm MediaTek, according to the leak. This SoC is comprised of a quad-core ARM Cortex A53 64-bit CPU running at a maximum clock speed of 1.3GHz and the IMG PowerVR GE8100 GPU. The handset will also reportedly sport a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 1440 by 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The leak also mentioned that the ZTE A606 will include 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal flash storage. Earlier reports have noted that the internal storage of the handset can be expanded using a microSD card with a capacity of up to 128GB. Rumors indicate that the rear camera of the device will be equipped with a 5-megapixel sensor while the front-facing selfie shooter will have a 2-megapixel snapper. The ZTE A606 is rumored to include a 2,600mAh battery to keep its lights on.
The leak also claimed that the handset will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed, and the leaked press renders show that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer’s proprietary skin will run on top of Google’s operating system. The recent rumors also mention that the device will ship with a price tag of 799 Yuan, which translates to $126 at the current exchange rate.
