Vodafone has just confirmed that the Huawei P smart will become available in the UK via the carrier’s stores starting on February 1st. For those of you who are not familiar with the Huawei P smart, it is essentially a European variant of the Huawei Enjoy 7s, as Evan Blass confirmed a while back. Roland Quandt said that the phone will launch in Europe in January, and now Vodafone simply confirmed not only that the phone is coming to the network, but it also pretty much confirmed that it’s the Huawei Enjoy 7s for the European market, as the company shared some images of the device, along with its specifications.
Vodafone has confirmed that the phone will be available through the company’s stores across the UK from £17 per month (£9 upfront cost), or for £29 per month (£9 upfront cost), which includes 16GB of data for the price of 4GB, with Vodafone’s ‘Pay Monthly’ deals. Having said that, the company did mention that the Huawei P smart is fueled by the Kirin 658 64-bit octa-core processor which will be clocked at 2.36GHz, while the phone will be equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card). The company also confirmed that the phone will sport a ‘FullView’ display, and a dual camera setup on the back. You can expect to see a 5.65-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) panel on this smartphone, and presuming it sports the same camera setup as the Huawei Enjoy 7s, you’ll be getting 13 and 2-megapixel shooters on the back, and an 8-megapixel camera on the phone’s front side.
A 3,000mAh non-removable battery will also be a part of this package, confirms Vodafone, while Android 8.0 Oreo will come pre-installed, along with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.0 skin. Now, in addition to all that, the phone is expected to sport a dual SIM setup on the inside, while Bluetooth 4.2 will also be a part of the package. The Huawei Enjoy 7s is actually fueled by the Kirin 659 SoC, but that processor is almost identical to the Kirin 658, so that’s nothing to worry about. The Huawei P smart sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, while the company’s branding is present both on the phone’s front and back sides. Bezels on the Huawei P smart are quite minimal, and the device is made out of metal.
