Italian newspaper Rimini Today reports Nick Hayden has succumbed to injuries he suffered in a bicycle crash last Wednesday. With the passing of the 35-year old Kentucky kid, so too passes the USA’s last hope in international competition. The Kid rose to fame in the `90s riding for the American Honda Superbike team, winning the AMA championship in 2002. From there, it was off to Europe and the MotoGP circuit, where in 2006 Nicky won the championship along with the hearts, minds, and respect of all who knew him.
