2017 Honda Civic Type R Release Date
A production model of one of Honda’s most anticipated models in its history was recently unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show—the production 2017 Civic Type R. The long-awaited Civic Type R is the first ever Type R-badged Honda to be sold in the U.S. The 2017 Civic Type R will make its U.S. debut at the New York International Auto Show on April 12, 2017. Honda Civic Type R 2017 Specs
The 2017 Civic Type R shares the body style of the 5-door hatchback and is equipped with a U.S.-built 2.0L DOHC, direct-injected and turbocharged i-VTEC inline 4-cylinder engine. The engine is mated to a short-throw 6-speed manual transmission with rev matching capability, offering smoother shifts and power delivery. The Civic Type R powertrain produces 306-horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 295 lb.-ft. of torque from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm.
Honda Civic Type R 2017 Launch Date
The 2017 Civic Type R will launch this spring in single, high-value Touring trim. The model will be equipped with premium features like a 7” Display Audio touchscreen interface with Honda Navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. A 540-watt, 12-speaker audio system with SiriusXM 2.0, HD Radio, and Pandora compatibility is also standard.
Other cabin features in the 2017 Civic Type R Touring include heavily bolstered sports seats with red/black suede fabric, illuminated visors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift boot, an aluminum shift knob, aluminum sport pedals, a red Type R driver’s meter, and a serialized Type R plate on the center console.
