Austin TX Trail of Lights 2016 Dates
The Austin TX Trail of Lights 2016 dates will take place from December 10th (grand opening night) to December 23rd. The trail will be open from 7-10 pm nightly, but guests with Zip Fast Passes and Platinum passes may enter as early as 6 pm. General admission is free through the 16th, then increases to $3 from the 17th to the 23rd. Find more ticket and event information here.

Austin Trail of Lights 2016 Events
In addition to the main events, Austin Trail of Lights is also offering a number of smaller events throughout the duration of the festival. The third annual UT Night at the Trail of Lights will take place on Sunday, December 11th. The event is free, and will include a variety of special programming by university groups.
Heroes Night, a night dedicated to honoring military personnel and first responders, will take place on Tuesday, December 13th from 7-10 pm. General admission is free, and military members, veterans, and first responders and their families receive Zip Fast Pass perks. Trail of Lights will also feature nightly programming, featuring multiple entertainment stages.
Trail of Lights Preview Party 2016
The 3rd annual Night Lights Preview Party offers an exclusive first look at the 2016 Trail of Lights before the grand opening. The Preview Party will feature live performances, small sampling bites from some of Austin’s favorite restaurants (including Shake Shack and the Texas Honey Ham Company), a maker’s market curated by Edible Austin, complimentary Ferris wheel and carousel rides, complimentary beer, wine, and holiday cocktails, and a classic car show.
This special sneak peek takes place on Friday, December 9th from 6-10 pm. All proceeds benefit the Trail of Lights Foundation. Purchase tickets here.
Trail of Lights Grand Opening 2016
The Trail of Lights Grand Opening for 2016 will take place on Saturday, December 10th, with open ceremonies beginning at 6 pm. Since its beginning 52 years ago, Austin Trail of Lights has expanded to more than 40 displays, 2 million lights, and plenty of holiday activities. Bring the whole family and enjoy this deeply cherished local tradition, and make countless memories.
