2017 Kia Forte5 Hatchback features and technology
Keeping everyone up to date on all of the new Kia models that have been announced at the Detroit Auto Show can be a daunting task. Also included in the long list of press releases and announcements was a breakdown of the 2017 Kia Forte5, a hatchback version of the Forte. Under the hood, the 2017 Forte5 is powered by a 2.0-liter GDI four-cylinder engine. For the sporty SX trim, the engine is swapped out with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Power and fuel economy ratings for the two engines have yet to be released.

2017 Kia Forte5 Features and Technology
Like any new model, the 2017 Kia Forte5 comes with a slew of new and updated technology. These features are spread out over three trim levels – LX, EX and SX. Standard and available features include:
- Projector beam headlights
- Remote keyless entry with trunk opener
- Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear-Cross Traffic Alert
- LED taillights
- Heated leather seats
- Smart KEy with push-button start
- UVO eServices
- Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity
- 7-inch infotainment touchscreen
The exterior of the 2017 Kia Forte5 draws its influence from European sedans. The 2017 Forte5 will be getting a widened version of the signature “tiger nose” grille, similar to the one found on the 2016 Optima. Pricing for the 2017 Kia Forte5 will be announced sooner to the car’s on-sale date, which will be in the first half of 2016.
