- Do not drive in the emergency lane, unless it’s an actual emergency
- Stay in your lane – it’s surprising how such a simple, and sometimes life-changing, task can be so difficult to follow
- Turn corners without encroaching on other drivers’ space. No one takes well to almost being pushed out of their lane
- Understand personal space. Keeping a safe following distance isn’t only a safety thing, it’s a respect thing. No one likes someone driving up their behind!
- Don’t drive more than 20km/h below the speed limit on main roads. This is just plain disrespectful for people who have meetings to attend and kids to pick up
- If someone apologises for doing something wrong on the roads, in a situation where no one gets hurt – accept the apology, and put your middle finger away
- Don’t turn from the wrong lane just because the turning lane is a little backed up – the same applies to going straight from a turning lane.
- Use your indicator – it really is a simple feat – one of the first things you learned about driving
- Look at the road – not your phone – not your kids in the backseat – not your beautiful girlfriend sitting next to you – THE ROADS!
