The best laid mice and motorcycle manufacturers have once again been scuttled Plans by California Air Resources Board certification of America deposit emissions for new bikes not yet unannounced.
This time it’s new road supermotard current versions of Ducati who have Stateside surface revealing that the Hypermotard, Hypermotard SP and Hyperstrada benefit from an increase in capacity in 2016, from the engine 821 to a new version of 937cc. The names will be slightly misleading as also revealed 959-Panigale with engine displacement being rounded to a neater 939 for side panels.
The trio isn’t a big volume seller in the UK, but boasts a loyal fanbase that stretches from the hardcore track and back-road thrashers on the Hypermotard SP, through to those who want to tour with a bit of attitude on the more practical but no less focussed Hyperstrada.
The new Hypermotards and Hyperstrada are just three of the nine confirmed changes to the Ducati range in 2016. Other models expected include Monster 1200R, a 959 Panigale Diavel Carbon, Diavel ‘Custom’, higher capacity Scrambler and Pikes Peak Edition of the Multistrada.
