Differences Between Kia Souls Trims

2016 Kia Soul Trims Topeka KS

The funky-fresh Kia Soul that won’t let ordinary drag it down, is returning for the 2016 model year. As a wagon with individual style, the Kia Soul first hit the market in 2009 and since continued its marketing scheme as an urban tool. There have been some changes to the new year’s model, but nothing shocking or astonishingly drastic. The three main trim levels, base, plus (+) and exclaim (!) all still exist, yet there have been some changes made which is why Briggs Kia would like to talk more about the 2016 Kia Soul trims in Topeka, KS.

Kia Soul Base Model

Base doesn’t mean totally basic, because even in its simplest form the Kia Soul is able to dart in and out of traffic, scoot around corners and still provide plenty of room for passengers as well as cargo.

Engine: Powered by a 1.6L 4-cylinder, the 2016 Soul produces 130 horsepower while also averaging an estimated fuel economy rating of 24 city/30 hwy mpg.

Standard features that drivers would expect and have come accustomed to include: power locks, windows, and mirrors, heated side mirrors, Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity, and a six-speaker sound system with aux inputs and SiriusXM satellite radio.

Bumping up to the next model, the Kia Soul + is slightly more upscale with a few extra creature comforts sprinkled as well as an engine upgrade.

Engine: The Plus trim model calls on a 2.0L engine which musters 24 city/ 31 hwy mpg while still firing up 164 horsepower.

The list of standard features begins with an upgrade to 17-inch alloy wheels, as well as turn-signal indicators within the side mirrors, automatic headlamps, rear-seat center armrest, and a flood-console storage box. Drivers who are interested have the opportunity to add on the UVO eServices infotainment system which includes an eight-inch center touchscreen and a rearview camera system.

Kia Soul Exclaim (!)

The highest and final step up in the Kia model lineup is the Exclaim trim where the Soul doesn’t necessarily become a luxury vehicle nor does it become a souped up sports model, but it does pull from either of these characteristics.

Engine: The Kia Soul Exclaim shares the same engine as the trim level below

Here at the very tippy top of the line, the Kia Soul Exclaim climbs another into to 18-inch alloy wheels, while gaining a slew of accessories and features including: fog lamps, projector headlamps, LED running lamps, a cooled glovebox, ten-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel and Kia UVO eServices.

Drivers interested in addition packaging options are able to choose from other amenities including: a panoramic sunroof, Infinity audio, speaker-mounted LED mood lighting to pulse with the music, leather seats, push button start, and more.

The 2016 Kia Soul is available here at Briggs Kia in Topeka, Kansas, where we welcome any interested drivers to come learn more or take the latest test drive to see for yourselves what it all is capable of doing.
