The Top 10 Sexiest Cars Of All Time

Picking these cars was exciting... not so much as judging a swimsuit contest, but not far from that either. Yet still definitely fun.

What is car sexiness? That's hard to define... I guess you know it when you see it. But there's a seductiveness about any sexy car, a lust if you will... Maybe it's the "I gotta have it" feeling. Even if it's only 1:24 scale.

So here they are, and in no real particular order:

  Countach

Lamborghini Countach In the late 1970s and early 80s, what teenage did not have a poster of this car on their wall... unless Farrah took up too much room. The low height and exaggerated length provided proportions never seen before or since. And its name translates (roughly) into "Oh my gosh!," and rightfully so.

1963-Corvette-Coupe-W63HV_CH005B_a

1963 Corvette Coupe Only 10,594 of these split-window coupes were made. And this was also the first year for hideaway headlights on a Corvette -- a feature that lasted until the 2005 'Vette. Now there are rumors that the split back window may soon be back... let's hope so.

1936 Cord

Cord Model 810/812 It was so far ahead of its time with concealed headlights, no running boards, front wheel drive, and front independent suspension. I can easily picture a new one of these rambling down Hollywood Boulevard with a major star at the wheel. This car typified glamour, as well as Tinsel Town itself did... back then.

  Porsche 928

Porsche 928 From any angle, this car screams style. It's organic... timeless... a classic. Its eyes move but never close, and they stare at you with a seductiveness unlike any other car.

Jag E Type

Jaguar E Type This "cat" was described by Enzo Ferrari as the most beautiful car in the world. It was so then, and it just may be now. Just park it beside any new Jaguar and see which one gets the stares.

DB 5

DB5 Skyfall

Aston Martin DB5 To some folks, this car made James Bond, and James Bond made this car. From "Goldfinger" in 1964 to "Skyfall" in 2012, this car has been in five 007 films. And despite its "demise" in "Skyfall," I feel that the tricked-out Aston Martin DB5, like James Bond himself, will return.

Avanti

1963/1964 Studebaker Avanti A longtime favorite here at Car Lust, the Avanti could and should have saved Studebaker. And as a testimony to its charm, Avantis were produced for decades after Studebaker folded shop.

Ferrari_Daytona

Ferrari 365GTB Daytona We recently reviewed this car, and Anthony called it "The perfect car." I would agree that for its time, it (And its cousin, the 365 GTC4) combined power, handling, looks, and comfort like no other road car. And that description may even apply today.

  1955-Mercedes-Benz-300SL-Gull-Wing-Coupe-Black-fvl

Mercedes-Benz 300SL With the first ever production fuel injection and the (then) fastest top speed in the world, this  racing car-based street car was an immediate success, as well as a timely classic today.  80% of these were sold in America, and just 29 were built with all-aluminum bodies. Now that's rare!

Citroen_DS_1252380c

Citroen DS Well, we've seen the Italians, the Americans, the Germans, and the British. And since no Top Ten list like this could omit the French, so here's a quirky yet attractive profile. Lots of je ne sais quoi here, no?

So there you are. Most of these I guess are sports cars, if not at least "sporty." And I'm sure there are more sexy cars, depending on your point of view. I just fell for these.
