Returning to Phoenix’s mall scene, we have not one but two photos of Phoenix’s Chris-Town Mall, located at the corner of Bethany Home Road and 19th Avenue, in the year or so following its opening in 1961. The above photo, like the previous one, came to us via John Talton’s Phoenix-focused blog, while the below photo we came across on Vintage Phoenix. Both show a good mix of late 1950s and early 1960s cars, and we have to wonder whether that’s due to Phoenix’s preserving climate or to economic factors following the 1958 recession.
