Old guys (and girls) rule at Lime Rock Park

Our whole world is predicated on the fact that you’re never too old to have a happy childhood. Really big kids like to drive fast. Even if you’ve reached a certain, noble level of seniority and discretion, Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut has an option that will let you rip loose. The Lime Rock Drivers Club has created a new Senior Speedster membership for men and women aged 65 and over. The historic road course, designed by John Fitch, is rare among pro-class racing circuits in welcoming senior citizens as performance drivers.

What do you have to do? First off, ante up an initiation fee of $16,500, plus annual club dues of $3,630. That, incidentally, is comparable in some cases to what NFL teams charge for permanent seat licenses as season tickets. The investment allows senior drivers to run on all weekly club days plus five weekend dates each year. Club days include four hours of open lapping, coaching, catering, clubhouse access and more. No previous experience is required. For the younger ones, the Lime Rock Drivers Club also now allows licensed drivers age 16 and older. Questions? Direct them to Michael Briskie (mike@limerock.com) or Simon Kirkby (simon@limerock.com).
